If you're planning a trip to the Sinai, you should be aware that a Sinai Pass is available, which means you can benefit from visa exemption. With the aim of boosting tourism in this predominantly seaside region, the Egyptian authorities are easing the formalities for your stay.
How do I obtain this document?
To obtain this document, certain conditions must be met:
- Hold a passport of European nationality
- Your stay will take place exclusively in the Sinai region (no outings are permitted with this document).
- You must arrive via one of these towns: Sharm el-Sheikh (airport or port), Dahab (port), Nuweiba (port) or Taba (land border).
- Your stay will not exceed 15 days
When you arrive, you should tell the immigration officer that you only want to visit the region. He will then issue you with the Sinai Pass, which saves you having to pay the standard visa fee of a few dozen euros per traveller.
Organising your stay
Once you have your pass, the Sinai will be yours to explore, including a hike to the Dahab oasis to discover its gardens, getting lost in every nook and cranny of the Coloured Canyon, a heritage stop at Saint Catherine's Monastery, and a dive in one of the many dedicated sites.
We invite you to get in touch with local agencies to discover some hidden gems thanks to local guides. Bloggers also provide excellent advice on accommodation, transport, sightseeing, etc.
Don't hesitate to apply for your eVisa via our dedicated form if you wish to leave the Sinai region or avoid the formalities on arrival.
